About spiderChem
spiderChem is an online resource for those interested in chemistry. It includes games, learning materials, revision materials, tests and articles.
spiderChem has been created by Peter Tebbutt, author and former chemist and lecturer (see also: www.documentstation.co.uk). Many of the learning resources are created using Adobe Flash and so require the latest Flash player plug-in - available from the Adobe website.
Peter Tebbutt is the author of the popular Basic Mathematics For Chemists, currently in its second edition, published by John Wiley & Sons. Available from all the usual online and high street book stores.

The Elements Word Search game is based on code from Gary Rosenzweig's excellent book, Actionscript 3 Game Programming University (new window alert!!!). The main difference is that I load the data from the same XML file that is used by the jigsaw games, and so there is additional code to select the correct elements when a button on the launch screen is clicked. I also wanted the elements listed (on the side) in the usual order rather than randomly.
